*** Factory bumper to bumper warranty to 5/30/2012 or 36k miles. Factory powertrain warranty to 5/30/14 or 60k miles. ***
*** The 125 point Firestone inspection found it needed an oil change, an alignment, two tires, and a transmission service. I had all services performed for $140. I provided the tires from my inventory, changed the cabin air filter, replaced the wiper blades, and added a fuel system treatment ($375 value). They found the brakes to have 70% front and 50% rear pads remaining. The tires are Michelin Energy LX4 series with 7, 7, 8, & 8/32nds tread. They have 10/32nds tread new. ***
*** I had the front and rear bumpers professionally repainted due to cosmetic defects. The front bumper was scratched and the rear bumper had a puncture. I replaced the rear bumper cover since it was better than repairing it. ***
*** I installed a 9" Rockville DVD. It comes with two wireless headsets and one DVD remote. It has a one year parts and labor warranty. ***
I am Todd Wittbrodt, the owner & operator of ToddsCarteam.com. I have been in the car business since 1985 (I was 15 years old). My first job in the car business was a car detailer. I worked in service & parts departments throughtout my high school & college years. I graduated from Northwood University in Cedar Hill Texas in 1991 with a BBA. I had a dual major of marketing & management. Upon graduation I entered a career development program with Southeast Toyota Distributors in South Florida (the distributor of Toyota in the Southeast). I worked for two dealerships they owned in the sales and the finance departments. One was a Pontiac GMC & the other was a Lexus dealership (both are the largest volume dealerships in the world). I was offerred a partnership opportunity to buy the Chrysler, Dodge, & Jeep dealership in Dickson Tennessee in 1996. We owned Harper's Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep for nine years.
On January 5th 2004 my daughter (then four) told me she was sad that she rarely saw me & that she thought my business was more important to me than my family. On January 8th 2004 I started the process to sell the dealership. On June 15th 2004 we closed on the sale of the dealership to Sterling Marlin (yes the Nascar driver!).
I was sure I never wanted to be in a business that consumed me like a retail operation does & I was also clear that I did not want to be in a business where my clients are my adversary. With that vision, ToddsCarteam.com was started on October 1st 2004.
My real passion is buying great cars at a substantial savings (averaging over $2000 less than Carmax) for friends, repeat customers, & referrals. I call this "Auto Sourcing." As part of that vision I also buy cars that I know are very desirable at less than wholesale prices since I am at the auctions already. Those cars are pictured & priced here at rock bottom prices. I do not haggle as I am too busy to play pricing games. If you do not like my price keep watching the website as I will reduce the price (usually $200- $300) if I still have it after two weeks of marketing. I adjust the prices again every two weeks until the vehicle is sold. I let the consumer body tell me if my prices are right by whether it is sold or not.
I do not have any full time employees. I have teenaged help with detail work. I buy, inspect, picture, advertise, answer calls, show, & contract all the cars myself. Obviously I do this on an appointment only basis. I provide detailed descriptions, 50+ pictures (including defects pointed to!), the Firestone inspection results, & a free Carfax on every car. I try to provide all the information online for you to know if the car is what you are looking for to save both you & me time.
I really do not want to waste your time or mine if the car is not going to suit your needs. We both have other things we prefer to do than waste time with a car that does not work for you. My goal is to do all this in 40 hours or less so I can spend the rest of my time with my family.
I am convinced that my way of doing business saves you money & time & provides me with a way to use my experience & knowledge to improve the quality of life for all concerned! I thank you for taking the time to support my dream life! I pray we all are better off for having met.
- No Northern Cars with excessive salt exposure. Many of my competitors sell cars from New York - New Jersey - Pennsylvania etc. because they can buy them cheaper - check the CarFax carefully. Salt exposure may cause rust during the time you own it. Emissions systems and brake systems typically fail sooner and cost more to repair because of the salt exposure as well. I do buy cars from Florida. The salt in the air does not harm the paint since it has been galvanized, painted, and clearcoated. The real threat is from salted roads not the air.
- No Repainted Metal Body Panels (doors, hood, fenders etc.) unless clearly disclosed in the exterior description above. I use an Elcometer Paint Thickness Meter (a $600 tool) for positive verification. If I have a vehicle that has had paintwork, it must be professional and acceptable quality and again - I will clearly disclose it in the Exterior Notes section above. If I claim a vehicle hasn’t been repainted – ask me to prove it to you.
- No Replaced Metal Body Panels. All Honda and Acura vehicles ( and some other makes) have Vehicle Identification Numbers (V.I.N.) clearly posted in conspicuous locations. I check those numbers against the V.I.N. posted in the windshield and on the title. Ask me to show them to you.
- Smoke Free Cars. I will not sell cars that have been smoked in unless I disclose it specifically. I never buy one with smoke odor and cove it up with frangrance.
- Yes - I Do Take Trades and do not try to “hide” what I’m giving you for your vehicle. No gimmicks, tricks, or games. I typically like to give you an estimate before we meet to avoid you falling in love with my car, but your trade value not being what you had hoped for.
- No Haggle Pricing. If the price doesn't seem right for you, check back every couple of weeks – I reduce them (typically $200-$300) every two weeks until a unit sells. My vehicles are direct competitors to the certified used cars you'll find at the franchised dealer's lots. I perform more maintenance than Honda Certified programs require. Some examples are alignments, brake fluid flushes, and cabin air filters. These are items you can't tell if they have been done, but should be done. My cars are not equal to the cars you will find at discount dealers. Discount dealers sell discount cars.
- I Will NOT Waste Your Time trying to con you into buying something that isn’t what you want and doesn’t fulfill your needs. I essentially try to provide self-serve car sales. I disclose all of the information I have about a car, even if it’s bad. For example, did any other dealer voluntarily disclose in written form as well as provide photographs of their vehicles flaws? I do, and with me you know the good - the bad - and the ugly before you even pick up the phone to call me. You shouldn't have to feel like you have to beg for honest information about a vehicles condition. You should know upfront.
- I Provide a Written Mechanical Inspection performed by an independent national garage (Firestone in Bellevue), not just some guy working out of the back of my shop who’s paid to say nice things about my vehicle.
- I Provide a Free CarFax attached to every ad, the link is next to the main picture.
- The Price You See is the Final Price. I don’t charge any additional “Junk” fees like “Doc Prep”, “Administrative” or anything else. The only additional fees you will pay will be in the form of taxes and licensing.
- I Don’t Skimp on Repairs, if I buy a car to sell and I find something wrong with it I either fix it - or disclose it and tell you why I choose not to fix it (it would have to be something minor). I even do paintless dent repair to remove door dings and minor dents.
